Should You Buy This Venusaur, Charizard & Blastoise Pokémon Brick Set? Honest Review

If you're looking for a Pokémon LEGO set but don't want to pay collector prices, this Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise LEGO-dupe brick set is a fantastic alternative. Featuring the three iconic starter Pokémon, this building set combines nostalgia with a fun display piece for Pokémon fans and brick-building enthusiasts alike.

I grew up playing Pokémon on my old Game Boy Advance, so building Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise brought back memories of choosing my first starter, battling through the Elite Four, and spending countless hours exploring the Kanto region. For fans of the original Pokémon games, this is one of those sets that immediately feels familiar.

Whether you're searching for a Pokémon LEGO alternative, a Pokémon brick set, or a unique gift for a Pokémon fan, this dupe is one of the most fun sets I’ve put together in the past year. The colors were diverse, the build never become repetitive, and it’s… huge.

I was halfway through building Venusaur when I realized that this was going to be an incredibly fun build. The colors, the creative pedestal he was sitting on, the ginormity of it all… I was instantly hooked!

The first notable difference from the Lego version is Blastoise shell. Because I was using the Lego app to build this, I relied on the “special instructions” sheet that were included to tell me there was a deviation. It was a simple few steps and it looks nearly the same as the Lego version.

The other difference are the wings of Charizard. They are more plastic in nature than the Lego version.

The finished project is magnificent. Time and again, there were parts that I loved. The waterfall feature below Blastoise, the volcano holding up Charizard, and for some reason, those knobbly knees of Venusaur… everything was so much fun! Don’t sit on this one.
